The National Liberal Club is announcing London’s biggest pro-European party. Being held in partnership with the European Movement, the event is expected to attract over 350 attendees from across the UK to come together and celebrate the UK’s ongoing place in the European Union.
The National Liberal Club has long been a place of political debate and discussion. Following the overwhelmingly successful 2024 event, the Club Mgt hopes that Europe Day at the National Liberal Club will become an annual fixture in the calendar for British pro-Europeans and those that want to see the UK return as a member of the European Union.
Nick Harvey (CEO of European Movement UK) said of the National Liberal Club:

This year’s event will take place across their entire Club and coincides with the 80th anniversary of VE Day. There will be an important focus on defence unity in Europe. The National Liberal Club said of this year’s theme:
As we celebrate the peace that VE Day brought to Europe, we will highlight why unity in Europe now is more critical than ever to ensure peace can be secured once again. Our Kitchen Team have also created a VE Day themed platter to mark the occasion, and we will be playing some of the classic music from the era throughout the event to try and recreate some of the spirit of the moment. We will festoon bunting of the Union Jack and EU flags throughout the Club and on our grand terrace, which is the largest private terrace in London!
Speakers include leading politicians from across the UK and Europe and speeches throughout the night will focus on critical topics such as the UK’s continued role in Europe, the crucial importance of European defence, and how the European Union needs to continue to be a force for peace and progress in the world.
Speakers confirmed include:
- Sir David Lidington KCB CBE (former Minister of State for Europe, Chair of Royal United Services Institute and Chair of the Conservative European Forum)
- Sandro Gozi MEP, Italian politician and member of the Renew Europe Now group)
- Ukrainian MP’s
- Military and Defence spokespeople
Non-members are invited to join Europe Day at the National Liberal Club and it is hoped that they can make this year’s event this biggest yet.
