EU survey on future manufacturing opportunities

The EU needs to build capacity to fight a large number of challenges ahead, such as climate change, increasing inequalities, demographic trends and the emerging geopolitical developments. The way we manufacture goods needs to adapt in order to build a prosperous future for the EU. This requires new manufacturing technologies and businesses that thrive through a vision that is inclusive, sustainable, circular, regenerative and collaborative. It also requires engaging with new players, companies, sectors and organizations to complement the existing EU manufacturing landscape in Europe and find innovative solutions to manufacturing pressing challenges.

This survey is an opportunity to gather the views of the wider European Manufacturing Community on future manufacturing priorities towards 2030 and beyond and to engage in co-creation for next work programmes, building on the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda of Made in Europe and EIT Manufacturing programmes.

The survey will also gather interest for a future workshop in autumn (provisional date 25 October 2021) that will bring together stakeholders for further discussion on the future manufacturing priorities of Europe.
