There is only one way to limit the damage and that is to reverse those aspects of Brexit that are causing the problem.
Leaving the customs union and single market is what has cut us off from the biggest market on our doorstep.
Starmer probably needs to call it by a different name to pacify the Red Wall ,but some form of access to SM and a customs agreement is the minimum that will be needed.
