We can afford to pay France £500m to stop possible refugees from coming to the UK but we can’t pay nurses, teachers, doctors etc a decent salary. When we were in the EU we didn’t have to pay anything at all. “Taking Back Control” is turning out to be very costly and just shows what empty rhetoric that phrase is. It seems France is taking back control.
