Yes, I was and still am against Brexit. It’s certainly made life very difficult for me.
But we must not be naive. Europe has moved on and is currently just as much in a mess as we are here in the UK.
What we need are really efficient politicians able to negotiate Britain’s return to Europe – fully or partially – with strength and a long-term view.
Over the last 25 years, Britain did not stand up for itself and effectively let the French and Germans take centre stage.
We now need to do even better than Europe, in all respects, so Europe also wants the UK back in the European fold.
Then, from a position of strength, we can go forward together.
